His haori is sleeveless, and made of a slightly heavier material so it doesn't flap around as easily and get caught on things. He wears the standard hakama, and a pair of tabi. His sash is red in color, and he wields his zanpakuto on his left side. When performing surgery/intense medical operations, Kaemon changes into a set of scrubs he keeps on-hand.

Occupation: Captain of Division 4

Former occupation: 4th Division, Unseated, 20th Seat, 18th Seat, 15th seat, 12th seat, 9th Seat, 5th Seat, Lieutenant

Zanpakuto: Fushichou ("Phoenix" in Japanese), Fire Type. Considered one of the strongest fire-type zanpakuto in the history of the Seireitei, Fushichou's sealed form is that of a 40cm wakizashi. The blade has a unique blade edge with the rest being silver, and having only a very slight curve. The hilt is circular and made of steel, gold in coloration and with a decoration to look like dozens of circling feathers going around. The handle is wrapped in a rich red rayskin with gold in between, and a pair of vibrant red and gold tsuba hang off the end. It is placed in a simple red wooden sheath, which hangs off his left hip.

Shikai: The release command is Ikikaeru ("To revive" in Japanese). Kaemon releases Fushichou by drawing it from it's wooden sheath and holding it up vertically, with his other hands palm placed under it. He pulls both away and a burst of flame comes from the gap between his zanpakuto and hand, engulfing his arm holding the weapon. It bursts out and dissipates, revealing his Shikai. In this released state, Fushichou becomes an ornate hook swords. The handguard is a golden wing, and the blade is a little thicker than standard hook swords. The handle is wrapped in red and gold cloth, and the spike at the bottom is fancier, with smaller spikes arcing out in the four directions at its base.

Fire Control/Manipulation: While not normally used, Kaemon can control and manipulate the flames he creates or other flames, adding to his strength. He can direct them to limited effect, although mostly does this for his own blazes and to stop fires. The control isn't that great either, and he can put enough force into attacks with them other than burning the target, although stronger targets would be able to shrug it off with little effect.

Dakiyoseru ("To Embrace" in Japanese): Fushichou's main ability in Shikai, and the main reason why Kaemon uses Shikai most often. By saying the command, his reiatsu tunnels out of his blade, forming a large phoenix made of fire. It wraps around up to three friendly allies in a group, enveloping them in the fire. However, instead of burning them does the fire act as a form of healing energy; it repairs wounds and burns away foreign intrusions in the body. It is faster than Kaido is and in critical circumstances it can save a life. The phoenix's body also protects the wounded, making it hard for others to attack through it and get to them. However, at this point is the most dangerous, for the phoenix is tethered to the spot. Kaemon cannot go more than 10 meters away from it, or else the phoenix breaks and a feedback hits Kaemon. He can still use his sword and fight, but he is grounded to that spot. Depending on the severity of the wounds, as well as the amount of reiatsu the target has lost and needs to become healthy again, this ability can quickly drain Kaemon if he isn't careful with it.

Kyuka ("Sudden Fire" in Japanese): Another ability of Fushichou, and the only defensive. By swinging his blade, Kaemon creates a large wall of fire, blocking incoming attacks and assaults. The wall can be any shape, even made to curve around him and Dakiyoseru, adding further protection to the healing patients. However, the fire itself can be dispersed with strong reiatsu, wind or water attacks, and it drains a lot of power in order to keep it running for extended periods. Furthermore, while it is a barricade it has no offensive properties in it's own right.

Jouka ("Sacred Fire" in Japanese): The only offensive ability in Kaemon's Shikai. By calling out the name, fire gathers around the blade of Fushichou, and then can be used in a multitude of ways. The fire can be launched in a slice, burning and cutting through objects at a medium speed. This form of of the attack is the weakest, but it can be used in rapid succession and can become deadly if caught in it. The second method is to charge the fire into the arc of the hook, and sling it like a projectile. This fireball creates a large explosion on impact, and possesses high speed. However, the projectile is small and has less area than the slices, and can't be used in rapid succession. The final method is that Kaemon holds the fire on the blade and fights with it physically. This increases the strength of his attacks and allows him to slice through metal and rock with ease, however it has no reach and since it is constantly held drains Kaemon's reiatsu over time.

Bankai:  Houou ("Chinese Firebird/Phoenix" in Japanese), Fire Type. The release phrase is Moesakaru ("To Blaze/Burn Brightly" in Japanese). To activate Bankai, Kaemon raises his blade up, summoning all flames in a large radius into the tip. It condenses and glows, growing in reiatsu and power before overcoming his form. Once the light and reiatsu fades, his Bankai is revealed. His Bankai takes the form of a massive floating disk, golden wings outlining it. A giant circle of flame floats in the middle, changing shape into a massive bird at times. Tendrils of flame encircle it and move around, constantly flowing and never ceasing. In Bankai, all forms of defense and healing are discarded in exchange for raw power and destructive capabilities; the very air around Houou burns, igniting dry materials and causing fires to break out, adding more to his power.

Fire Control/Manipulation: What was once one of his weakest abilities is now one of his strongest. Kaemon can perfectly control and manipulate the fires from Houou and other sources, serving in replacement for his blade. He can direct it mentally or with his hands, with the fires speed being very quick to react. He can control the flames very precisely as well; enough to cauterize a wound without damaging surrounding healthy skin, for example. However, it isn't an omnipresent flame; he must have line of sight on the target or an idea of what he is doing, he can't just simply block all attacks and hunt all foes. The fire, while fast and precise, isn't necessarily hard to dissipate and destroy; sufficient reiatsu exertion can repel them. Water and wind are also a factor as per before, and can dampen this power.

Houyoku ("Phoenix Wing"): One of Houou's abilities and one of the more often used. By calling out the phrase, the fire in the center of the disk takes the form of a large phoenix. It shrieks and then flies quickly after a target, immolating the ground underneath it. If it makes contact with the target it explodes into a large ball of fire, incinerating them. The phoenix can also be split up into six smaller but faster phoenixs, with smaller power between them. As the large phoenix, this ability causes a lot of collateral and area damage, and the effects of it are massive. However, it has poor manueverability, and can be dodged and avoided. The smaller ones on the other hand are great at maneuverability, but they lack the full power or massive area damage the large phoenix possesses, and are more for singling out targets or groups of targets. Both have a time limit to them, however, and all will explode after 20 seconds.

Shounetsujigoku ("Inferno/Burning Hell"): Houou's most powerful ability. Kaemon channels and condenses his flames into the center of the disk, increasing the heat and brightness of the flame. It takes a full minute and a large amount of reiatsu and concentration to charge, leaving Kaemon vulnerable during this time. However, after the minute is up, the attack unleashes. The disk spins upwards, and launches a huge blast of fire into the sky. The fire and his reiatsu merge, changing the skies color to red around them, before fireballs reign down from the sky. These explode and burst into flame on impact, and are fairly high-speed, resulting in large amounts of devestation and damge to those caught in the attack. Kaemon can also direct the general direction where most go, however he can't pinpoint them precisesly. Allies and enemies would be caught in the crossfire if not careful, and it's extremely deadly to head into while the fire is raining down, even for Kaemon. Also, it takes a lot of reiatsu to charge, leaving the Captain drained if he uses too many in one battle.

Skills: Kido Master, Hoho Expert, Zanjutsu Expert, Hakuda Practitioner, Medical Expertise, Highly Practiced Surgeon, Leadership Skills, Cooking Skills, Cleaning + Care Skills, Precision Reflexes, High Amount of Reiatsu

Reiatsu: Red. It's warm and almost looks flickering, like an inviting hearth where one sits and down and enjoys time with others.

Brief personality: Kaemon is a rather unusual figure, mainly because he is a man of contradictions. During work and emergencies, he is extremely careful and cautious, approaching every obstacle with logic and reason. He's never one to rush or be too hasty, even in critical situations for he is very well aware of the penalties of being too slow. However, outside of this work-filled persona, Kaemon is extremely casual and even a bit reckless. He smokes cigarettes even though he is aware of the danger they pose (although for Shinigami this might be a moot point), and when it comes to people he does actually care for being in trouble, he's been known to act rashly and get into trouble himself. In general, he is also a very calm and caring person, being patient, listening and helpful. However, he also struggles with developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, and has been known to be distant and passively push away from people due to his life experiences and can sometimes get depressed. He also has a very low tolerance for bullshit, and is constantly done with people who chronically lie/do inappropriate things, even if he says nothing. He completely dislikes fighting; he understands the need and jobs for it and that it is a necessary part of life, but thinks that sometimes it's unnecessary and too brutal for some scenarios that could be peacefully resolved. He doesn't promote violence and tries to resolve his own conflicts and those of his Division in a peaceful manner. All in all, a sweet, caring man of contradictions.

History: Born during the Edo Period of Japan, Kaemon didn't live long at birth; he died only a few months old. A Shinigami kindly sent him to the Seireitei, and then proceeded to hunt the child down and adopt them. Fortune favored Kaemon that day, as he ended up with a set of loving parents and a well-enough life that he wasn't struggling to survive. Growing up, he saw a lot of the work his parents did, since they worked in Division 4. He saw the wounded and hurt, and his heart wanted desperately to heal them. Into his early 100's did his reiatsu grow and become apparent, and his parents helped him sign up into the Shino Academy.

With his heart set, Kaemon put to work and studied as hard as he could; while his physical prowess lacked, his Kido and Hoho were more than well enough along to make up for that. His knowledge of medical expertise and Kaido were also trained to a point of impact, and when he graduated he was moved into the 4th Division as per his request. His parents, now retired encouraged and helped him when they could to teach him more about Kaido and medical practices. He trained hard and put in work, bright eyes looking forward to the future when he could save lives.

Well, that rolled around very quickly. Around 50 years into his time at the 4th Division a series of skirmishes erupted in the World of the Living and Hueco Mundo, as the Espada and Numeros attacked Shinigami. Countless numbers on both sides were wounded, and for the first time in his life Kaemon's romanticism of saving lives was completely wiped away. He saw grueling tragedies and the dead litter the ground, he saw the fighting in the distance as he worked tirelessly to save as many lives as he could. He made friends with patients, only for them to end up dying and not pulling through. It scared the hell out of him and wounded the man's heart, to the point where he began to passive push people away. His mind began to see the dangers of caring too much, and it might have broken him had he not persevered. During this time he began to take notes and lead groups to rescue the hurt from battle, and his leadership prowess showed through. He developed an almost eerie calm, tactical mind, and it showed as he became a seated Shinigami at the end of the skirmishes.

With this new seat, he trained and learned as much as he could, although he was not as eager to confront battle anymore. Continuing to rank up, Kaemon eventually learned Shikai, a zanpakuto befitting his style of healing and non-confrontational combat. After a full hundred years since the skirmishes, Kaemon realized his Bankai as well. However, the first time he tested it out would be his last time. During another skirmish that erupted between Arrancar, Hollow and Shinigami, Kaemon unleashed his Bankai to protect everyone. However, the destructive force of it was great enough to cause major damage to both sides of the fray; Shinigami and Arrancar alike were put at risk because of it. After the battle, guilt swept over him and Kaemon sealed his zanpakuto, a silent vow to not unleash Bankai ever again while other innocent or friendly lives were at stake. However, the display solidified his position as the new Division 4 Captain; his skills were exceptional in the medical field, and while no one lost their lives to his Bankai he worked himself half to death to try and keep them alive. Moved up to Lieutenant, Kaemon became the head of Division 4 after his former Captain retired.

Now as the new Captain, Kaemon solidified into the man he is today; the contradictory, caring Captain of Division 4. Compared to the previous installations of Captains, he has proven to be a very understanding and progressive man; he even put a Shinigami with Multiple Personality Disorder as his Lieutenant and head of the Mental Disorders/Trauma Division, and has split the 4th Division into a series of corps with different focuses of medical aid. The Captain serves as the head of it all and tries his best to save every life that comes through his door, no matter what.
Aaaaaand here we go! My next Captain, Kaemon Hayashi is up!

He's a sweet-hearted yet depressed man, and the one who wields the strongest fire-type zanpakuto in my Seireitei; strong enough that he still struggles with controlling its Bankai sometimes XDDD

He's really awesome and I love the thought put into him, I hope you do too uwu

Matchitehew, my 9th and 2nd Lieutenant will be up next, stay tuned~!
